Aluminium scaffolding is equipment for work at height, so where does the "height" start and finish?
Height is normally described in three ways: platform height, working height and tower height.

Platform height: the height from the ground to the working platform deck - the deck the operative stands on.
Working height: the height above ground of the point the operative's hands must reach while working. It is normally 2 m above the platform height.
Tower height: the overall height of the erected scaffold, from the castors to the highest point.
The three are fixed in relation to one another: working height (highest) > tower height > platform height. A buyer should therefore be clear about which of the three heights the job needs, in order to choose the right product.
Take the YANGST SPAN400-D as an example. If a customer needs to service ceiling lights indoors, first find the room height and treat it as the required working height, because the operative's hands must reach the ceiling. If the room is 4.5 m high, a 3 m SPAN400-D is enough: its platform height is 3 m and its working height reaches 5 m, so a 4.5 m ceiling is comfortably covered - better high than low. The tower height is 4.2 m, because every YANGST scaffold is built strictly to the European standard and must have a 1.1 m guardrail, so tower height is platform height plus guardrail height.
