How Tube Wall Thickness Affects Aluminium Scaffold Quality

Published: 2018-09-27 09:45:49 Views:

Strictly speaking, there is little direct relationship between the two. Aluminium extrusion is already a high-strength material; what an aluminium scaffold really depends on is the overall structural design. The frame structure and the manufacturing process are what determine quality, load capacity and safety - and that is exactly where the technical difficulty lies.

The design intent behind an aluminium scaffold is to be as light as possible while still meeting load and safety requirements, and this is one of the clearest indicators of a manufacturer's technical capability.

For example, many products on the market use 2.0 mm wall tube, yet their load capacity is 30% lower than YANGST aluminium scaffolding with a 1.6 mm wall. They are heavier and carry less. It is rather like comparing a 2.0 litre naturally aspirated engine with a 1.8 turbo - a larger displacement does not automatically mean more power.

YANGST products use wall thicknesses from 1.6 mm to 3.0 mm, carefully designed and tested against the structural load path, with the aim of raising working efficiency through the lightest possible product.
